MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE FAMILY FEAST

The Family Feast is coming up soon. Don’t forget to mark your calendar and join us for a free spaghetti dinner starting at 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 15th. Then stay for our Open House starting at 6:00pm. During the Open House feel free to walk the building and meet with the teachers! We are looking forward to starting the 2018-2019 school year! We are looking forward to seeing you on August 15th.

ARE YOU A NEW/TRANSFER STUDENT TO THE DISTRICT?

All new/transfer students to the district need to call the high as soon as possible and make a registration appointment.  We would like all new/transfer students to make an appointment to register prior to walk-in registration on August 9th.  This does not apply to our incoming 9th grade feeder school students!

PTHS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Attention Parents/Guardians:  Registration packets are going out in the mail today.  In the packet, you will find all information that is needed during the walk-in registration on August 9th from 10:00am – 7:00pm.  Please call the high school at 815-844-6113 if you do not receive your packet or if you have any questions. Just a friendly reminder that freshmen MUST have a physical exam form with record of immunizations and health history and seniors MUST have record of an updated meningitis vaccine at the time of registration.  Students will not be able to continue the registration process on this day if those forms and records are not complete.

PTHS WELCOMES GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH TOM GARRIOTT

PTHS is pleased to welcome Tom Garriott as our new Girls Basketball Head Coach.  He brings a record of 151-77 as a head coach the past eight years at Prairie Central and St. Thomas More.  The coaching staff will arrange meetings with players in the near future.  Go Indians!

PONTIAC FFA NAMED TOP CHAPTER IN ILLINOIS

Congratulations Mr. Bane and Mr. Faber and the Pontiac FFA Chapter being named the top chapter in Illinois — This recognition has been held by fewer than 5 schools in the last 50 years. This is the 4th time we have won it. Great work Pontiac FFA Chapter!!

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT OFFERING SPORTS PHYSICALS NEXT WEEK

The Athletic Department is teaming up with OSF Medical Group in Pontiac to provide sports physicals to our athletes on Wednesday, June 13th from 8:00am – 12:00pm in the commons.  This is a walk-in, no appointment needed, service and insurance will NOT be billed.  The attached consent form must be signed and the athlete must bring a check for $25 payable to Pontiac Township High School. FREE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM OFFERED AT DISTRICT 429

Free summer meals are available for all children 2 – 18 years of age June 4th – 22nd.  Pontiac School District #429 will be providing a breakfast from 8:00am – 9:00am and lunch (to be eaten on site) from 11:00am – 12:00pm to any child 2 – 18 years of age who shows up at the following location:  Washington School, 400 N. Morrow Street, Pontiac, Illinois.

CUMULATIVE FILES FOR CLASS OF 2013 WILL BE DESTROYED AFTER JUNE 7TH

Cumulative files for the Class of 2013 will be destroyed after June 7th. If you would like to pick up these files before June 7th, please call main office and make arrangements.

ILLINI PRAIRIE ART SHOW

Pontiac Township High School recently hosted the inaugural Illini Prairie Art Show.  The students were judged in Black and White Drawing, Color Drawing, Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Pen & Inks,  Photography, and Computer-Aided Design.  Schools that participated were Pontiac, Prairie Central, Bloomington Central Catholic, IVC, Olympia, St. Thomas Moore, Monticello, Rantoul, St. Joseph Ogden, and Tolono Unity.   Award winners for Pontiac were Bethany Jewel-1st Place Black and White Drawing,  Nicolle Leon-Araujo-2nd place Black and White Drawing and 3rd place Mixed Media, Sam Sipe-Painting-1st place,  Josie Noonan-1st place Photography and 3rd place-Computer-aided art, and...

2018 LIVINGSTON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SCHOOL & SPORTS PHYSICAL CLINICS

School & Sports Physicals all being offered by appointment only on Wednesdays:  June 13, 20, 27,  July 11, 18, 25 and August 1.  Call the Health Department at 815-844-7174, ext. 210 to schedule your appointment.  Charges will be billed to Private Insurance or Medicaid.  The private pay fee is $55 for students without insurance coverage.  Physicals will be done by a Nurse Practitioner.
