WELCOME NATIONAL FFA OFFICERS

We have the amazing opportunity of hosting leadership training by the National FFA Officers! There are six officers on the National FFA Officer Team from across the country. The officers hail, respectively, from California, Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. During their time here, the officers will meet with school supporters and provide leadership training to both our 7th & 8th Grade leaders from the Indian Summit and 140 FFA members! As a top school based youth leadership development organization, FFA provides the next generation of leaders. UPDATE ON SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR TODAY – FEB. 5TH

There are a couple of scheduled changes for today:  1)  The girl’s varsity basketball game time for tonight has been moved from 6:30pm to a 5:00pm start. Also, this is a varsity game only.  2)  The Unified Basketball scrimmage game tonight vs. A.I.R. will be played at the Rec Center starting at 4:00pm.

CHORAL CONCERT FEBRUARY 21

The Choral Program proudly presents its Winter Choral Showcase Concert: “Around the World!” on Thursday, February 21st at 7:00pm! Enjoy selections from the Concert Choir, women’s ensembles, Men’s Choir and Vocal Jazz Choir Route 66!  Come and hear some of your favorites such as “Sweet Home Alabama!”, “Ramblin’ Man” and “Wagon Wheel” as well as music from the movies “Aladdin”, “An American Tail” and “Beverly Hills Cop” and much more. The choirs will also present songs from Louis Armstrong, Queen, Marvin Gaye, Coldplay and Bastille! To better serve our school community, we are moving to online registration for the 2019-2020 school year. Start scheduling school and sport physicals NOW!!! Registration is not complete until all required health and immunization forms are turned in. More info. coming soon.

BOYS SWIMMING TAKE 3RD IN ILLINI PRAIRIE CONFERENCE MEET

The boy’s swim team placed 3rd this weekend at the Illini Prairie Conference meet.  Members of the team from Pontiac are:  Sam Fogarty, Ayden Mankowski, Tucker Riordan,  Zavier Turner, Kevin Sennott, Ethan Schikel, and Mason Christianson.

JV SCHOLASTIC BOWL TEAM PLACES 3RD AT INVITATIONAL

Congratulations to our JV Scholastic Bowl team who took third place at the Roanoke Benson JV Invitational Tournament on Saturday.  Sophomore Ed Sarama was named to the 2019 All-Tournament team.  We are so proud of you Ed!

PTHS STUDENTS WERE HONORED WITH THEIR ARTWORK

On Saturday February 2nd, Fourteen Pontiac Township High School students were honored with artwork at the Central Illinois High School Art Exhibition.  The artwork was selected by a panel of jurors based on the overall quality and complexity of the artwork.  Pontiac Township High School submitted twenty pieces to be considered for the show, and all were accepted by the jurors.    The exhibition reception took place at The Illinois State University Center for the Visual Arts.  In addition to Pontiac Township High School there was 12 other schools participating.  In total, there was over 400 works of art displayed.  At the awards ceremony thirteen awards were given to select students that were considered...

TOMORROW NIGHTS GIRL’S BASKETBALL GAME VS. MORRIS IS VARSITY ONLY

Tomorrow night girl’s basketball game vs. Morris has been changed to a varsity game only starting at 6:30pm. The JV game has been cancelled.

PTHS AND LACC ARE CANCELLED FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 31st

PTHS and LACC will be cancelled for Thursday, January 31st due to the frigid temperatures we are experiencing.
